Position for: Lead Ruby on Rails Rockstar

If you follow my tumblr or twitter at all, you know that we’re excited about what we build. We were recently acquired by Like.com, which means we now have even more resources to build cool stuff.

We are looking for a lead rails engineer to lead the development of our website. You will lead the build out of a critical component of our product strategy.

All candidates must have several years experience working on high-traffic social community web sites, and mastery of:

- HTML, CSS

- JavaScript frameworks like prototype, jquery, dojo, YUI.  You should be able to compare/contrast the frameworks and know the quirks of ones you’ve used.

- Cross-browser issues.  You know exactly how to test and debug each browser and can quantitatively identify performance bottlenecks.

- Third-party integration.  You know the pitfalls of third-party cookies.  You’re familiar with cross-domain issues in both DHTML and Flash.

- ActionScript.  You should be comfortable with AS 2.0 and 3.0 and be able to maintain codebases in both versions.  You know how and when to use Flash-cookies.

- Version control systems like CVS, Subversion.

- Bug-tracking systems like Fogbugz, Bugzilla.

- XSLT

The Weardrobe Conference

WhatIWore: By now, I’m sure a lot of you noticed that banner I’ve got going down the left side of the blog for The NYC Fashion Blogger Conference hosted by Weardrobe.  Its all starting on Friday and I am both super excited and anxious and nervous about the whole thing.  I’ve been helping a bit in the planning and keeping my fellow attendees in the loop and I can’t wait to be reunited with some and meet others for the first time. In short, its going to be epic. I’m so excited to be involved with this one, which is happening thanks to some really bad ass sponsors.

Dang! Ahhhh. Just putting those images in just made me so excited!! Here’s a look at the bloggity fashion gals who will be joining me as well. We’ll all be covering the events and posting from our own perspectives. Can’t wait to see what they think!
